Kia Motors will participate at Auto Expo 2018 that will take place from February 9, 2018, through February 14, 2018. According to a report from The Economic Times, the company will showcase 3-4 models at the biennial auto show.
Sources have told the business publication that Kia will showcase some high-end premium cars of the segments in which the sister brand Hyundai doesn't have a presence in. Kia wants customers to perceive its brand as a premium one right from the get go. The Kia Stinger and Kia Optima Hybrid seem potential contenders for the Auto Expo showcase.
While Kia has announced that it will make a compact sedan and compact SUV in India, reports suggest that Kia could debut in the Indian market with the launch of the Kia Rio Sedan. The B-segment sedan would sell alongside the Hyundai Motor Group's Hyundai Verna in the country. The fourth-gen Rio Sedan premiered at NYIAS 2017 last month and is set to go on sale internationally later this year.
The smallest SUV made by Kia globally is the Kia KX3, a spin-off of the Hyundai Creta, in China. Kia will reportedly introduce this model (after making it in the RHD spec) from the Indian factory.
