Kia has released a new teaser video of the Seltos ahead of its official reveal on 20 June 2019. The company has teased the SUV several times previously in design sketches and a similar teaser video.
The Seltos will be Kia's first product for the Indian market. And seeing the rising SUV trend in India, Kia seems to have done the homework needed. Its name 'Seltos' has been picked from the Greek mythology and the legend of ‘Celtos’ (son of Hercules). But the letter 'S' (like in every monocoque SUV from Kia) in the adapted name stands for speed, sportiness and strength. The new teaser video (above) highlights the SUV's key exterior design details such as its signature tiger-nose grille, 18-inch double-spoke alloy wheels, LED headlights, fish fin roof antenna and wedge-shaped wraparound LED tail lamps.
Previous spy shots have confirmed many major details on the interiors and other cabin features. Kia Seltos is confirmed to be kitted with a head-up display, a massive 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system (biggest in segment) with navigation, a configurable mood lighting system, and much more. It will also feature a nicely laid-out, broad dashboard with vertically positioned outer air-con vents, and there will be an analouge-digital instrument panel with a large MID between the dials.
Under the hood, the Kia Seltos will come with two engine options including a 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol unit and a 1.5L turbocharged diesel unit. A 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox unit will handle the transmission duties on Seltos. In the later stage, the company will also launch a performance variant of the Seltos which will be powered by a 140PS 1.4L turbocharged petrol engine paired to a 7-speed DCT, featuring paddle-shifters.

The Kia Seltos is set to be officially unveiled on 20th of this month, and sales are said to start from July this year. It rivals the likes of other SUVs in the segment such as Nissan Kicks, Hyundai Creta, Tata Harrier and entry-level variants of Jeep Compass.
