The Kia Seltos that was launched in August has quickly become the best-seller in its segment. The Kia launch in India will happen in January 2020 and it will be of the Carnival MPV.
In an interview recently, Manohar Bhat, the Head of Sales and Marketing of Kia's Indian subsidiary, briefly talked about future products. "We are looking at various models such as luxury MPV, but that will come out in January," he said.
The Kia Carnival measures 5,115 mm in length, 1,985 mm in width and 1,740 mm in height. It has a 3,060 mm wheelbase. The luxury MPV from the Korean automaker is available in 7-seat, 8-seat and 11-seat configurations. For the Indian market, Kia has planned the plush, 7-seat configuration. This 7-seater will be a great upgrade for customers of the Toyota Innova in terms of both practicality and luxury.
In order to make the Carnival promising for the customers looking for a luxury MPV, it will be equipped with features such as Kia's UVO Connect in-car connectivity suite (also available in Seltos), two sunroofs, power-adjustable driver’s seat with memory function, three-zone climate control, a large touchscreen infotainment system and a host of other features.
Mechanically, it will make use of a 2.2-litre four-cylinder turbocharged diesel tuned to deliver 202 PS at 3,800 rpm and 441 Nm of torque at 1,750-2,750 rpm. While it is available with a 6-speed manual transmission also in the global markets, in India, an 8-speed automatic transmission may be offered as standard.

The Kia Carnival will land in the Indian market as a locally assembled CKD product. It should be priced between INR 25-30 lakh (ex-showroom). Currently, there is no direct rival for the Kia Carnival in India.
