Along with the off-road focused Jeep Compass Trailhawk, Jeep is displaying the sporty Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk at the 2017 Dubai Motor Show. The high-performance SUV debuted at the 2017 New York Auto Show in April.
The Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is the most powerful and quickest SUV ever, Jeep claims. The Trackhawk variant pushes the boundaries beyond the SRT variant with an even higher level of on-road performance. It sports a 6.2-litre supercharged V8 engine that throws out 707 hp at 6,000 rpm and 875 Nm of torque at 4,800 rpm. The Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk rides one inch lower than the non-SRT Jeep Grand Cherokee models.
New TorqueFlite 8-speed automatic transmission, Quadtra-Trac 4WD system, electronic limited-slip rear differential, Selec-Track adaptive damping system with drive modes and Brembo Performance (yellow) brake callipers are standard in the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk. The Hellcat-powered Jeep Grand Cherokee does 0-90 km/h in just 3.5 seconds. It has a top-speed of 180 mph (290 km/h). Auto, Sport, Track, Tow and Snow are the five available drive modes. There’s also a Custom Mode using which the driver can personalise the SUV’s performance.
Visual highlights of the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk include redesigned fascia that optimises airflow and cooling, sculpted hood with dual heat extractors, 20-inch Titanium wheels, unique quad-tip exhaust and premium Laguna leather-trimmer interior surround.
The Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk’s production takes place at the Jefferson North Assembly Plant in Detroit. It has just started reaching U.S. dealerships. Its Middle East sales could commence by early 2018.
