Jeep Compass buyers in India will finally have access to the ‘Trailhawk’ variant this year. According to a report from Autocar India, the Jeep Compass Trailhawk launch in India is likely to take place towards the end of June or or early July.
The Jeep Compass Trailhawk is a more off-road centric variant of the SUV. Tougher and more capable than a regular Compass, the Trailhawk is immediately recognisable thanks to its distinctive bumpers, Ruby Red recovery hooks, dark grey accents, black anti-glare hood decal and unique 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped in off-road tyres.
The Jeep Compass Trailhawk has a 30-degree approach angle, 24-degree breakover angle, and a 34-degree departure angle. Key to the Trailhawk grade is the Jeep Active Drive Low 4x4 system with a 20:1 crawl ratio and low range as well as the five-mode Jeep Selec-Terrain system with exclusive Rock mode. Hill-descent Control is also included as standard.
The Indian-spec Jeep Renegade Trailhawk will employ the familiar 2.0-litre Multijet II diesel engine that develops 173 PS and 350 Nm of torque, but with a 9-speed automatic transmission. As another exclusive, it may get the Uconnect 8.4NAV 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.
