Only Maruti to offer ISOFIX points.
The Maruti Ciaz sedan is available with ISOFIX child seat mounting points as standard across the range, making it the only Maruti to offer the safety feature.
In an email to IndianAutosBlog.com, MSIL stated -
ISOFIX is a child car seat attachment system that uses metal bar connectors built into the rear seats of the car to connect the child car seat. It provides more safety and comfort for the child during the journey. The new safety feature will allow easier and safer attachment of child safety seats on the rear passenger seat of the Ciaz. ISOFIX mounts are offered as a standard fitment across all Ciaz variants.
By offering ISOFIX anchoring points, Maruti has made the Ciaz compliant with BNVSAP (Bharat New Vehicle Safety Assessment Program) norms. It joins other safety features like dual airbags and ABS with EBD optionally available from the base VXI variant, seat belt pre-tensioner, force limiters and reminder for driver, reverse parking sensors and reverse parking camera.
ISOFIX is a set of anchoring points that lock a child seat to the car. It can secure a combined weight of 33 kg and minimize the risk of injury to the child in case of an accident. In cars without ISOFIX, seat belts are used to hold the child seat in place, which is not considered safe.

The Ciaz is one of India's top selling mid-size sedans under 13 Lakhs, staying ahead of rivals like the Honda City, Hyundai Verna, and VW Vento.
