Indian launch coming this festival season.
The 2017 (Maruti) Suzuki S-Cross introduced last year is now set to go on sale in China. Autohome.com.cn has published images of the facelifted model which was spotted at a local dealership recently. Sales of the new model are reported to commence in the country in July.
The 2017 Suzuki S-Cross features a revised exterior with notable styling enhancements at the front. The new model's face comprises slightly reshaped, LED headlamps with new graphics and integrated LED daytime running lights, newly-designed radiator grille with vertical chrome slats and chrome surround and restyled bumper. On the sides, double six-spoke alloy wheels are seen. At the rear, the tweaked tail lamps have LED lighting.
The Chinese-spec 2017 Suzuki S-Cross will sell with features like engine stop-start system, panoramic sunroof, keyless entry, cruise control, paddle shifters, new 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with rear view camera input, reverse parking sensors and ESP. The Chinese publication's report suggests that the 1.6-litre G-INNOTEC VVT and 1.4-litre BOOSTERJET engines will continue as before. The 1.6-litre engine produces 90 kW (120.64 hp) and 158 Nm of torque, while 1.4-litre engine develops 103 kW (138.07 hp) and 220 Nm of torque.
The 2017 Maruti S-Cross will reportedly go on sale in India around Diwali (October-November 2017). The current model is available only with (88.51 hp 1.3-litre DDiS 200 and 118.01 hp 1.6-litre DDiS 320) diesel engines and (5- and 6-speed) manual transmissions, but the new model could have an option for a 1.5-litre petrol engine and an automatic transmission. Availability of a petrol engine option would lower the entry price point from current INR 8,07,061 (ex-showroom Delhi).
