The performance ‘N Division’ of Hyundai Motor Company has raised the curtains off the all-new Hyundai i30 Fastback N at the 2018 Paris Motor Show.
The Hyundai i30 Fastback N offers the same level of performance as the i30 N hatchback, along with the hot coupe design. On the outside, it features honeycomb grille, sporty side skirts and unique rear bumper including the triangular-shaped rear fog lamp. Inside, it features an all-black styling with a piano black finish to the centre console and red highlights on the air-con vents. The car receives leather bucket seats with contrast stitching, a chunky steering wheel and performance-focussed infotainment display with a lap timer.
The Hyundai i30 Fastback N shares its powertrain with the Hyundai i30 N hatchback. The 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol motor churns out 250 PS and 353 Nm of peak torque, and it is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox with rev matching. In this power-tune, the car can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.4 seconds.
That said, in the Performance trim, the same engine produces 275 PS of power, while the 0 to 100 km/h sprint comes in 6.1 seconds. A launch control program is also available. The top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h for both the trims. The driver can select from five driving modes - Eco, Normal, Sport, N, and N Custom, which alter the engine characteristics and the exhaust note.
