Expected to be priced between INR 7.5 Lakhs- INR 9 Lakhs (ex-showroom).
Honda Cars India will announce prices of the Honda WR-V in India today. It is the company's third utility product for the Indian market, joining the Honda BR-V and CR-V range.
Based on the Honda Jazz, the WR-V features a distinctive exterior styling that helps distance itself from its hatchback sibling. The WR-V is 44 mm longer, 40 mm wider and 57 mm taller than the Jazz, measuring 3,999 mm in length, 1734 mm in width, 1601 mm in height and longer wheelbase of 2,555 mm. Ground clearance is also up by 23mm at 188mm.
The WR-V will be sold in two grades: S and VX. The top-end VX diesel will comes equipped with 16-inch dual tone alloy rims, 7-inch DIGIPAD infotainment system, automatic climate control and a segment-first sunroof. As for the interior, it looks largely identical to the Honda Jazz, save for unique black fabric upholstery with silver patterns in VX grade.
Under the hood, the WR-V can be had with a 1.5L i-DTEC diesel motor or a 1.2L i-VTEC petrol engine. Unlike the Jazz there’s no option of an Earthdreams CVT in petrol, so the WR-V is only available with manual gearboxes; 5-speed unit in the petrol and 6-speed in the diesel.
The Honda WR-V is expected to cost between INR 7.5 Lakhs - INR 9 Lakhs (ex-showroom). It will rival the Hyundai i20 Active, VW Cross Polo and Fiat Avventura, as well as sub-4m SUVs like the Maruti Vitara Brezza and Ford EcoSport.
