Honda India has created a page for the Honda Mobilio MPV on its website today. The page gives a few details about the car, which have already been reported time and again.
Honda says the launch of the MPV will take place in a "few months from now". The company announced earlier that it will introduce the Mobilio in the second quarter of this financial year (July-September period), while one media report stated that the car will go into production at Honda's Greater Noida plant in June.
The Mobilio will be available with a petrol and diesel engine. The petrol motor, a four-cylinder 1.5-liter i-VTEC, is expected to be carried over from the new City. In the new City, this engine produces 119 PS and 145 Nm of torque. Expect gearbox options to be a 5-speed manual and a CVT with 7 stepped ratios.
The diesel Mobilio will get its power from a 1.5-liter four-cylinder i-DTEC engine, seen in the Amaze and new City. This engine is good for 100 PS and 200 Nm of torque, and comes with a 5-speed manual on the Amaze and a 6-speed manual on the City.
The Mobilio will rival the Maruti Ertiga when it goes on sale and if it succeeds, would be the third consecutive hit for Honda Cars India.
