Will get a new look.
Honda Cars India is reported by Economic Times to be planning a facelift of the Honda City during the Diwali festive season this year. The latest iteration of the Honda City was launched in January 2014 and was updated two months ago with a black interior. The upcoming version is expected to feature exterior styling and equipment upgrades.
The current Honda City is priced up to INR 11.09 lakhs for the petrol-manual version and INR 12.32 lakhs for the diesel trim (ex-showroom, New Delhi). It is offered with a CVT (automatic) unit in select petrol variants, the range topping version of which is priced at INR 11.90 lakhs.
The petrol version is powered by the 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine that produces 119 PS and 145 Nm of torque. It is offered with a five-speed manual transmission that enables the vehicle to deliver a mileage of 17.8 km/l. The CVT version claims a higher fuel economy of 18 km/l.

It is likely that the said five-speed manual unit will be replaced with the six-speed gearbox that will be used on the Honda BR-V. No changes are anticipated in the 1.5 i-DTEC diesel version, except improved NVH and emission control. The oil-burner produces 100 PS and 200 Nm, and is offered with a six-speed manual transmission only.
