Indonesia would be the first market for the BR-V.
Honda released the first design sketches of its all-new crossover, the BR-V (Bold Runabout Vehicle), yesterday and announced the prototype's premiere for the Indonesian International Auto Show 2015 (which will be held from 20-30 August 2015).
According to the Bangkok Post, bookings for the BR-V will open at the motor show itself, making Indonesia the first market for the Brio-based crossover. Developed by Honda R&D Asia Pacific Co., Ltd. (HRAP) in Thailand, the BR-V is aimed at Asian markets, and could also be sold in Thailand, the report states.
The BR-V is announced to feature a three-row seating and a rugged design with high ground clearance and large alloy wheels.
Honda announced that the BR-V will be powered by a 1.5-liter petrol engine giving it "sporty performance" and "great fuel efficiency". This engine will be paired to two "advanced" transmissions, which reports say could be a 5-speed manual and a CVT, similar to the Honda City.
