The Hero XTracks – Live the Thrill gave the fans in Chennai a taste of the XPulse 200’s prowess off the tarmac in a specially-curated off-road zone last month. Apart from showcasing the off-road capabilities of the newly launch XPulse 200, the event imparted critical skills to the riders.
Participants go through a safety briefing before going out for a ride on the track. The safety brief aims to enable them to understand the capabilities of the bike and learn safe riding habits. The specially curated tracks include obstacles that test the features of the XPulse 200.
After Delhi/NCR and Chennai, the event will be held in Bangalore, Kochi and Pune.
Launched in May this year, the Hero XPulse 200 is available in two variants – carburettor and fuel injection. The carburettor variant is available at INR 97,000*, while the fuel-injected variant retails at INR 1.05 lakh*.
The off-road-spec features of the XPulse 200 include wire-spoke wheels (21-inch front/18-inch rear) wrapped in dual-purpose tyres, a tall-set front fender, knuckle guards, an aluminium bash plate, a tall-placed exhaust and 220 mm ground clearance. The suspension department comprises conventional telescopic front forks and a 10-step adjustable Gas Charged monoshock suspension at the back with 190 mm and 170 mm travel respectively.
Premium features of the XPulse 200 comprise full-LED headlight, LED tail lamp, underseat USB charger and a first-in-class Bluetooth-enabled instrument console with turn-by-turn navigation.
The carburettor variant is available in two colour options – Sports Red and Black. The fuel-injected variant, on the other hand, comes in three paint options – Matte Green, Pearl Fadeless White and Matte Axis Grey.
The 199.6 cc single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine (in both carburettor and fuel injection guise) makes 18.4 PS of peak power at 8,000 rpm and 17.1 Nm of max torque at 6,500 rpm. The motor is paired with a 5-speed transmission. Braking department is handled by 276 mm front and 220 mm rear petal-type discs. The anchoring setup is governed by the safety net of single-channel ABS.
There’s also a road-biased version of the XPulse 200 – the XPulse 200T – that features 17-inch alloy wheels on both ends and retails at INR 94,000*.
