First model from Hyundai's new Genesis luxury brand.
Hyundai has unveiled sketches of the Genesis EQ900 (or Genesis G90 for international markets), that previews the design of the Hyundai Equus replacement. It is confirmed for launch early next month in Korea, and is the first product from Hyundai's luxury division Genesis.
The design of the Genesis EQ900 concept is inline with that of Equus test mules spotted in Korea, as seen in the LED headlamps, LED DRL design, C-pillar design, and the 6-point Genesis grille. The Genesis G90 will measure 5,205 mm in overall length with a wheelbase of 3,160 mm, while a long-wheelbase version will measure 5,495 mm long with a wheelbase 3,450 mm.
Inside, the Genesis G90 will feature modern ERGO seats, and will be equipped with features like HDA (Highway Driving Assist), DAA (Driver attention Alert), ASD (Active Sound Design) and HVCS (Hyundai Variable Control Suspension).
The Genesis G90 comes with three engine options: 3.8 Lambda V6 GDi with 334 hp and 40.3 kg/m, 3.3 Lambda V6 Turbo GDi with 370 hp and 52 kg/m, and a 5.0 Tau V8 GDi with 425 hp and 53 kg/m. All variants are paired to an 8-speed automatic gearbox and an AWD system as standard.
Hyundai will soon expand the Genesis lineup with Genesis G80 and Genesis G70 sedans in the near future, along with SUVs and 2-door sports coupes. It will take on luxury brands like BMW, Audi and Mercedes-Benz in respective markets across the globe.
