At the 2016 Busan Motor Show that opened this week, Genesis unveiled the Genesis G80 Sport. The Genesis G80 is the company's first model to receive a performance variant.
The Genesis G80 Sport is distinguished with features like black honeycomb radiator grille with black surrounding, modified front bumper, bigger and black airdam grille with black surrounding, black air vents, black wheels, black door mirror housing, modified rear bumper with a diffuser and quad exhaust pipes.
Under the bonnet, there's a 3.3-litre T-GDi twin-turbo V6 petrol engine which debuted in the Genesis G90 (Genesis EQ900). This engine, South Korean media reports say, produces 370 hp and 52.0 kgf.m (509.95 Nm) of torque. It is paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission, which may also be from the Genesis G90.

Genesis is working on being more adaptive to global markets. In core markets, especially those in Europe, diesel power is a must as of now. Thus, Genesis will introduce a diesel-powered Genesis G80 in H1 2017.
