Spy shots of camouflaged test mules of the Ford Figo facelift (Ford Ka facelift) have emerged from Brazil. The images were taken by a Autos Segredos reader and are the first spy shots of the 2018 Ford Figo. The first report of the facelift came out last month and hints at a possible reveal in mid-2018.
The complete body of the 2018 Ford Figo (2019 Ford Ka) is draped in heavy camouflage, which hints at possible changes to the front and rear of the hatchback. From what we can make out, the Figo will get updates to the nose with a new fog lamp enclosure. At the back, the tail lamp graphics are new. The test mules were seen wearing new design multi spoke black alloys, which could be part of the list of cosmetic updates.
The interior panels are also under camouflage indicating the cabin is likely to go under the knife. Ford is reportedly planning to introduce a touchscreen AVN on the Figo and Aspire as reported in July 2016. This new touchscreen unit will support the latest version of Ford's SYNC AppLink.
As per Brazilian media reports, the Ford Ka will continue with the 1.0 L and 1.5 L petrol engines. The latter is expected to gain a 6-speed automatic transmission. In India, the 2018 Ford Figo should continue with the current set of 1.2 L Ti-VCT petrol, 1.5 L Ti-VCT petrol, and 1.5 L TDCi diesel engines. However, there is a real possibility of a new three cylinder 1.5 L Dragon petrol engine replacing the current 1.5 L unit on the Figo twins and EcoSport.
The cosmetic changes to the Figo will trickle down to the Aspire and the Ka 'Trail' version. In India, the Figo and Aspire currently retail for INR 4.73-7.62 lakhs and INR 5.41-8.16 lakhs (ex-showroom) respectively.
