Limited to 499 units only.
The Ferrari 458 Speciale Aperta marked its world premiere at the 2014 Paris Motor Show today. Based on the 458 Speciale that premiered at the Frankfurt Motor Show last year, the Aperta is the open top version and claims bragging rights as Ferrari's most powerful open top ever made.
Compared to its coupe sibling, the Aperta (which in Italian means "open"), adds a mere 50 kg of weight thanks to its lightweight aluminium roof. The 1,340 kg car needs 14 seconds to open or close its top.
Power for the Aperta comes from the 4.5-liter naturally-aspirated V8 engine producing 605 PS at 9,000 rpm and 540 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm. The result is that the Aperta takes a mere 3 seconds for the 0-100 km/h sprint, and 9.5 seconds for 200 km/h.
The 458 Speciale Aperta is limited to 499 units. The show car is presented in a triple-layer yellow livery with Blu Nart and Bianco Avus central stripe. Inside, it receives newly designed seats with Alcantara and contrast stitching and 3D fabric, along with a center tunnel in a blue carbon-fiber shade.
