Limited to 499 units.
Italian supercar manufacturer Ferrari has showcased a very special car at the ongoing 2014 Guangzhou Motor Show in China, the 458 Speciale Aperta. Based on the 458 Spyder, this is a more hardcore version of the same - think of it as a Speciale but in a convertible form.
Presented at the 2014 Paris Motor Show earlier this year, the Ferrari 458 Aperta is limited to 499 units only. Powered by a 4.5-litre V8 that makes of a maximum power of 597 hp, the 458 Speciale Aperta can do 0-100 kmph in just 3 seconds. And to entice your aural senses, all it takes is 14 seconds for the hard top to come down.
Once it's down, not only can the noise be experienced in a purer yet more real way, you can also enjoy the wind in your hair. Because that's the reason why you bought the 458 Speciale Aperta in the first place, right?
It is the most powerful road-going Spyder to have left the Ferrari factory, and that's not something which happens every day. And why was the car made? Well, to celebrate the success of the 458 on and off the track.
