The Renault Clio has always been a strong product in the French manufacturer's portfolio for countries like Brazil and Argentina.

Renault has announced that they will be showcasing the refreshed version of the Clio at Sao Paulo Motor Show on October 22nd. The new Clio previews the design direction of the future Renault small cars.

The front grill is clearly inspired by the Renault Dezir concept which came to the Delhi Auto Expo this year. The slot like grill expands in the middle to house a bigger Renault lozenge, giving the face a very unique look.

The headlamp undergoes slight change of shape and the detailing of the elements have a premium feel. The lower air dam and fog lamp enclosures are also new.

The profile of the car remains fairly untouched except for the new wing mirror shape. The rear gets new tail lamps and bumpers. The rear windshield is smaller and unlike in the older version, it doesn't bend at the top to form a part of the roof.

The refreshed Clio is expected to be offered with the same powertrain option as the old one which includes 1.0 litre flex fuel motor for Brazil and a 1.2 litre petrol engine for Argentina.

Though this news has no relevance to the Indian market after Renault India confirming their disinterest in pursuing the Clio, the design language shown here could one day take its place on the Pulse and Scala.
