Benelli Tornado 302 is based on the Benelli TNT 300 naked roadster.
A report in Bikewale reveals that the DSK Benelli showrooms have started accepting bookings for their upcoming faired sports motorcycle, the Benelli Tornado 302. Booking amount is claimed to be INR 30,000. The bike was first showcased in India at the 2016 Auto Expo.
The Benelli Tornado 302 is powered by a 300 cc in-line twin cylinder, DOHC, liquid-cooled mill coupled to a 6-speed gearbox. The fuel injected engine is capable of producing 38 PS of maximum power at 12,000 rpm and 27.4 Nm of peak torque at 9,000 rpm. The bike tips the scales at 190 kg and is Euro4 compliant.
The suspension system comprises of 41 mm upside down forks up front and monoshock in the rear with adjustable preload. Brakes include 260 mm dual disc in the front with four piston calliper and a 240 mm disc in the rear with a single piston calliper. ABS is expected to be on offer making the Benelli Tornado 302 the only motorcycle in the segment with the safety net and dual front discs.

The bike will compete against the Yamaha R3 (which has been temporarily removed from the Indian line-up) and Kawasaki Ninja 300. While the Benelli may seem low in terms of output, the DSK Group will be attempting to attract customers with an attractive pricing.
The Benelli Tornado 302 is expected to be priced at around INR 3.2 lakhs and will launch in May 2017.
