Bike Advice reports that the Benelli TRK 502 will be launched in India by September 2016. Shirish Kulkarni, Chairman of DSK MotoWheels, told the website in an interview, “I would rather concentrate now is on the 500cc TRK. We are expecting August September but I am gonna push for… may be sooner, but I don’t think it will happen before August or September. You will be seeing it again at the Auto Expo.”
To be positioned beneath the DSK Benelli TNT 600GT, the TRK 502 is an adventure tourer that was unveiled at the 2015 EICMA in Milan last month. The motorcycle is powered by a 500 cc inline twin-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that produces 48 PS of maximum power at 8,500 rpm and 45 Nm of peak torque at 4,500 rpm. The transmission system is a six-speed unit.
The vital features of the TRK 502 include 230 mm of ground clearance, 210 kg of kerb weight, a tall windscreen, an LED headlamp, a 20-litre fuel tank, a long-travel inverted telescopic fork and an adjustable monoshock suspending the steel trellis frame, a dual disc brake upfront, a single disc brake at the rear, and an optional pannier set.
The DSK Benelli TRK 502 is expected to be priced under INR 5 lakhs (ex-showroom) as it will be imported as a CKD kit and assembled at DSK MotoWheels' facility in Wai near Pune.
