Maruti Suzuki won’t offer a CNG option in the 2019 WagonR at launch, as per a report CarDekho. Moreover, the outgoing model in the CNG configurations will get discontinued.
Maruti Suzuki started offering factory-fitted CNG vehicles in India in 2010, and it sells them at over 150 cities. The WagonR CNG is its highest selling CNG model, and it is quite popular among fleet aggregators. However, the third generation car will come without a CNG option. There were rumours of an LPG option, but no details have emerged yet.
Leaked brochure scans have confirmed two engine options: K10B 1.0L three-cylinder petrol and K12M 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol. The three-cylinder engine produces 50 kW (67.98 PS) at 5,500 rpm and 90 Nm of torque at 3,500 rpm. The four-cylinder engine develops 61 kW (82.94 PS) at 6,000 rpm and 113 Nm of torque at 4,200 rpm. Transmission choices are common to both: 5-speed manual and 5-speed automated manual.
The 2019 Maruti Wagon R measures 3,655 mm in length, 1,620 mm in width and 1,675 mm in height. It has a 2,435 mm wheelbase. The configurations with the 1.0-litre engine come with either 13-inch wheels or 14-inch wheels, while those with the 1.2-litre engine get the latter as standard. The range is divided into LXi, VXi, and ZXi equipment lines, and none of them features alloy wheels.
