The Chevrolet Trailblazer belongs to the full-size SUV segment that comprises of the Toyota Fortuner, SsangYong Rexton, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport and Hyundai Santa Fe.
Dimensions:
The Trailblazer is the largest SUV in the segment, measuring 4,878 x 1,902 x 1,831 (Length x Width x Height), while the smallest of the lot is the Hyundai Santa Fe, that stretches the tape to 4,690 x 1,880 x 1,690 (Length x Width x Height). The Trailblazer also tops in terms of wheelbase, with 2,845 mm between the wheels, and the Santa Fe again stands last with 2,700 mm.
The Trailblazer has the best in class ground clearance of 253 mm whereas the Santa Fe has the lowest at 185 mm.
Powertrain:
The Chevy Trailblazer is available in only one variant, which has a two-wheel drive layout and an automatic gearbox. It is powered by a 2.8-litre diesel engine that produces 200 PS and 500 Nm, mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. Compared to its rivals, it is the most powerful SUV in the segment. It's nearest competition is the Hyundai Santa Fe, which features 197 PS and 436.5 Nm from the smallest engine in the segment, a 2.2-litre diesel unit. The least powerful SUV here is the 2.5-litre variant of the Toyota Fortuner, which gets 144 PS and 343 Nm.
Apart from the Trailblazer, which doesn't feature a manual transmission or an all-wheel drive configuration, all of its competitors can be availed with a manual or automatic transmission, and a rear-wheel or all-wheel drive setup.
Coming to prices, the Trailblazer is priced at INR 26.4 lakhs, ex-Showroom, New Delhi, and is the only SUV here to be imported through the CBU route. The Rexton continues to play the value card with prices starting at INR 20.14 lakhs, ex-Showroom, New Delhi for the manual variant.
