Suzuki Motorcycle India launched the Gixxer SF (Facelift) MotoGP edition last week (18 July). Launched at INR 1,10,605*, the MotoGP variant is approximately INR 700 more expensive than the standard variant that retails at INR 1,09,870*. For the additional INR 700, buyers get a GSX-RR MotoGP race bike inspired colour and graphics on the Gixxer SF (facelift).

The GSX-RR-inspired blue paint is accompanied by Suzuki Ecstar decals on the fairing, contrasting graphics on the body and stripes on the wheels. The motorcycle looked appealing in the press photographs, and it looks even better in real. The MotoGP colour option joins the existing paints – Glass Sparkle Black and Metallic Sonic Silver.

The changes to the MotoGP edition are limited to visuals and the motorcycle uses the same mechanical and hardware specifications as the standard Gixxer SF (facelift). The engine specifications include a 154.9 cc air-cooled, 2-valve, SOHC, fuel-injected motor that delivers 14.1 PS of max power at 8,000 rpm and 14 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm. The mill is linked to a five-speed transmission. Anchoring department comprises disc brake on both ends, while the safety net of single-channel ABS comes as standard.

Over the next few weeks, Suzuki Motorcycle India will launch the MotoGP-inspired variant of the Gixxer SF 250 with racing motorcycle-inspired paint and graphics. The Gixxer SF 250 MotoGP will carry a marginal premium over the standard bike’s INR 1,70,655* price tag.
