BMW has showcased the BMW X1 with the M-Sport package and the BMW X6 with M Performance parts at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show.
BMW X1 M-Sport Package
The BMW X1 with M-Sport Package features several exterior and interior upgrades such as a kidney grille with black accents, large air intakes, side skirts and 5-spoke two-tone alloy wheels.
Changes to the interior, apart from the addition of ‘M’ badges, are the leather-wrapped M steering wheel, sport seats, roof lining in anthracite, aluminum trim along the dashboard, steering wheel, door pads and footrest. The Sport package also comes with two-zone climate control, Park Distance Control (PDC) at the rear and speed control with braking function.
Drive comes from a choice of 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines with power outputs ranging from 150 - 231 hp. There are some mechanical changes too that come in the form of M Sport suspension that lowers the car by 10 mm, thereby providing better dynamic capabilities.
BMW X6 with M Performance Parts
The X6 with M Performance parts features gloss black finish for the kidney grille slats and the rear fins. The Aerodynamic package adds a carbon fiber splitter, rear diffuser, rear spoiler and exterior mirror caps.
The interior gets illuminated LED door sill plates in brushed stainless steel, M Performance Alcantara steering wheel, stainless steel pedal cover and footrests, and M Performance lettered floor mats. Further visual changes come via the carbon gearshift lever with BMW M logo and M Light Blue accents.
The show car was the BMW X6 xDrive35i that comes with a power kit that raises output and torque to 326 hp and 450 Nm thus improving the 0 - 100 km/h time by 0.5 seconds over the standard model. Apart from the increase in power there is also a sportier accelerator set-up that delivers faster response with an optimized engine and exhaust note.
