China is a big market for every automaker and everyone is flexing their muscle to the maximum. Audi has taken the opportunity to showcase the S3 sedan (a powerful version of the A3 sedan) at the Auto Shanghai 2013.
The S3 is the cheapest Audi performance sedan that money can buy. It competes against Mercedes’s AMG version of CLA-Class which was revealed earlier this year.
The Audi S3 offers a 2.0-liter TFSI engine that produces 300 horsepower and 380 Nm of torque mated to a S-Tronic automatic transmission or a six-speed manual transmission.
Using the autobox, the Audi S3 can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 sec. With the manual box, you can reach the same speed in 5.3 sec. The S3 has a top speed that is electrically bounded to 250 km/h.
The Audi S3 sports:
- Modified bumpers
- Renewed side skirts
- Trunk-mounted spoiler
- Mirror casings made of faux aluminum
- A sport-tuned suspension that reduces the ride height by 25mm
It also comes with with Bluetooth and 4G/LTE connectivity, leather upholstery, panoramic roof, Bang & Olufsen audio system, MMI infotainment system with 7-inch TFT display and LED ambient lighting.
The Audi S3 also comes with impressive fuel economy numbers with the car delivering over 14.49 kmpl with the DSG dual clutch gearbox while the manual gearbox delivers about 14.28 Kmpl.
The 2015 Audi S3 sedan is set to hit dealers later this year.
