Likely to be offered only with the petrol engine.
Audi India will launch the A3 Cabriolet next month, reports the Economic Times. The A3 Cabriolet, which is nothing but the convertible version of the A3, will be introduced as a brand shaping tool, with prices expected between INR 45-50 lakhs.
An Audi India official told Indian Autos Blog that the company will launch another product by the end of this calendar year. He did not disclose the product, but said that it would not be a mainstay model, rather a niche model, much like the A3 Cabrio.
In fact, Audi showcased the A3 Cabriolet at the Auto Expo alongside the A3 Sedan in a bid to gauge interest for the car. The highlight of the A3 Cabriolet is its fabric roof which can open/close within 18 seconds at a push of a button. The roof can be operated at speeds up to 50 km/h.
The A3 Cabriolet is likely to be powered only by a 1.8-liter turbocharged petrol engine which makes 180 PS and 350 Nm of torque, and comes matched to a 6-speed DSG transmission.
