Autocar India reports that the Aprilia SR 150 facelift will be launched in the country in mid-2018. While details about the facelift are unknown as of now, the updates could either be visual only or mechanical as well.
It was reported in August last year that the Aprilia SR 150 might get an adjustable front suspension for better handling. If Aprilia brings out the suspension update in its upcoming facelift, it would be the first scooter in India to have the feature.
The current generation Aprilia SR 150 employs a 154.8 cc single cylinder inside the rigid steel frame. It generates 10.5 PS of power at 6,750 rpm and 11.4 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm. The scooter gets traditional telescopic fork at the front and a single hydraulic shock absorber at the rear. For braking, the scooter employs a 220 mm front disc and a 140 mm rear drum. The scooter rolls on 14-inch alloys shod with 120-section tyres on both ends.
The Aprilia SR 150 Race Edition is a sportier take on the standard scooter, gets exclusive graphics on the body and painted wheels, calliper and rear spring. The CVT features revised gearing for faster acceleration. The Italian brand launched the SR 125 at the 2018 Auto Expo this month, in a bid to make the SR scooter range more affordable. It costs INR 65,310, ex-showroom, Pune, which is approximately INR 4,000 cheaper than the SR 150.
