According to a report on Gaadi.com, Indian truck manufacturer Asian MotorWorks (AMW) is all set to develop fully-built cabin variants of its trucks. After testing the waters in the Indian market for over a decade with its cowl models, the Gujarat based manufacturer will now look to sell trucks with cabins straight off the factory floor.
At present AMW sells just three models from its portfolio in the cowl variant. The company is more popular in the premium fully-built truck segment, where its easily recognized cabins come flush with features like air conditioning, FM radio, adjustable steering, HID headlamps and a modern dashboard. However, with the mass market getting crowded with many multinational players, AMW will target the segment without any of these creature comforts, to pass on a significant cost saving to the customer.
AMW’s present cowl-only models, the 2516 HL, 3116 HL and 2518 TP will get the frugal cabins to start with.
