The festive season is surely the most favourite time of the automakers due to the increased number of sales. Only a few days back, it was in the reports that Hyundai, Kia and MG collectively delivered 15,000 units on Dhanteras. Now MG India has announced its sales figures for the month of October - 3,536 units. This surely is a huge feat considering that MG India only has a single product (Hector) in its portfolio currently.
The MG Hector was launched in July 2019 and its sales numbers continuously grew ever since its launch month, starting from 1,508 units in July 2019, followed by 2,018 units in August, and 2,608 units in September this year. The figures clearly show that the MG Hector is in great demand during the initial stage.
In order to keep up with the demand, MG is also starting a second-shift at its Halol, Gujarat plant to ramp up the production from 2,000 units per month to 3,000 units, starting from this month. Albeit, due to long delivery period, customers who have booked the Hector this festive season may have to wait until early 2020 to get the vehicles delivered.

In other updates, MG plans to launch an all-electric ZS SUV in India in December this year. The MG eZS will compete with the Hyundai Kona but will be priced more aggressively, probably around INR 20 lakh (ex-showroom). A 6-seat MG Hector will be the launch after this EV.
