Hot on the heels of the Maruti S-Presso which was launched only yesterday, Renault has launched the 2020 Kwid today. It has priced the facelifted model from INR 2.83 lakh*.
The 2020 Renault Kwid is available in a total of five trim levels, including Standard, RxE, RxL, RxT and Climber. The booking amount for the new model is INR 5,000. Zanskar Blue, Fiery Red, Ice Cool White, Moonlight Silver, Outback Bronze and Electric Blue are the colour options.
The facelifted Renault Kwid borrows its design cues from the Renault City KZ-E. It features a thoroughly updated front fascia with two-tier headlamps consisting high-set LED DRLs, new grilles and a more muscular bumper. While at the rear, it features a remastered bumper with reflector on the sides, new tail lights with LED light guides. The top-spec Climber grade makes use of faux skid plates, roof rails, 14-inch gunmetal grey alloys and orange highlights all around for a more rugged and funkier styling.
The interior is also new now, although not as different as the exterior. It now features a tweaked dashboard design, with a newer, and larger, 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a new steering wheel. The round gear shifter of the optional AMT has been repositioned from the centre console to the floor console. Also new on the list is the use of refreshed instrument panel which has been borrowed from the Triber.
The ground clearance of the new 2020 Renault Kwid is 184 mm, 4 mm more than that of the old model. The length, width and height are 3,731 mm, 1,579 mm and 1,474 mm/1,490 mm (with roof rails) respectively. The 0.8-litre SCe petrol engine (54 PS/72 Nm) and 1.0-litre SCe petrol engine (68 PS/91 Nm) of the new model comply with the upcoming BS-VI emission norms. 5-speed manual and 5-speed automated manual are the transmission choices.
