The recall (National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration Campaign Number: 19V593000) states that the front and the rear brake calliper pistons may corrode, which may cause the piston to stick or drag in the calliper bore. BMW will notify the owners, and dealers will replace the front and rear brake calliper, free of charge. The recall is likely to begin on 4 October 2019. BMW has also asked its dealers to stop the deliveries of all G 310 GS, G 310 R and C 400 X bikes due to the issue.

The German two-wheeler brand is yet to make any such recall notice for the G 310 R and the G 310 GS in India.
