Revolt Motors has confirmed the launch details for its first product in the Indian market - the RV 400. The company will launch the Artificial Intelligence-enabled electric bike on 7 August 2019.

The company unveiled the RV 400 over a month ago and it has received positive feedback with over 2,500 bookings (as on 10 July). The online bookings opened on 25 June on the company’s website and more recently on Amazon India. The electric bike is available for pre-booking for a token amount of INR 1,000 (fully refundable in case of cancellation).
While most of the details were revealed on 18 June, the company will announce more features at the launch. For example, Revolt Motors teased a voice-command activation system towards the end of the presentation at the unveiling event, which hints at a Bluetooth-enabled helmet that will be available as an accessory.
The motorcycle will be available in two colours – Rebel Red and Cosmos Black. It was expected to arrive at approximately INR 1 lakh (on-road Delhi) price. However, the recently proposed reduction in GST on electric vehicles could result in a lower price at the launch. At that price point, the RV 400 will rival 150-180 cc motorcycles with an internal combustion engine.
RV 400 has a clear advantage in terms of hardware specifications. The electric motorcycle comes with full LED lighting (headlight, blinkers, and taillight), upside-down front forks, monoshock at the back and disc brakes as standard. The Revolt bike also packs a fully digital instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity. Several functions of the RV 400 can be controlled via a smartphone app.
The smartphone app provides access to functions like tracking trip, select from preset exhaust notes and geofencing. The Revolt app also offers information about the on-board battery pack along with providing the location of battery-swapping stations. The app can also be used to order a new battery at home.

In terms of performance, the top speed of the Revolt RV 400 is electronically limited to 85 km/h. The electric bike has an ARAI-certified range of 156 km. Stopping power, as mentioned above, comes from disc brakes, although the safety net of ABS was not seen on the motorcycle at the unveiling event. The safety tech is mandatory for electric two-wheelers if their motor generates 11 kW or higher power. The specs of the RV 400's motor are yet to be revealed.
