CFMoto has entered the Indian market with a big bang today. AMW has launched the Chinese brand's four products in our country – 300NK, 650NK, 650MT and 650GT.

The CFMoto 650MT is a middleweight tourer that rivals the Kawasaki Versys 650. It comes equipped with a semi-fairing design, adjustable upside-down front telescopic forks and an asymmetrically mounted rear monoshock. The Chinese product gets an advantage with its projector-style headlights, LED blinkers and LED tail lamp, which gives a premium look and feel. The fairing integrated front blinkers give the bike a clean look from the front view.
The CFMoto 650MT mounts a 649.3 cc parallel twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor that churns out 70.7 PS of peak power at 8,750 rpm and 62 Nm of max torque at 7,000 rpm. The engine is paired with a six-speed transmission. CFMoto claims a top speed of 170 km/h for the 650MT. The Kawasaki Versys 650 draws 69 PS at 8,500 rpm and 64 Nm at 7,000 from its 649 cc parallel twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled power mill.
Like the Kawasaki Versys 650, the CFMoto 650MT is a road-biased motorcycle that’s designed to munch miles on the highway. Thus, it comes packed with 17-inch alloy wheels on both ends for better on-road handling prowess. Metzeler soured rubber further aids the handling department. The semi-fairing design along with a tall windscreen and upright ergonomics are aimed at offering touring capabilities. A comprehensive crash guard package provides protection to the bodywork, while a pair of saddle stays/pannier mounts at the back improves the bike’s touring persona.
The motorcycle is available in two colours:
- Matte Titanium Gray/Nebula black
- Athens Blue/Nebula black
Anchoring tasks are performed by twin, petal-type disc brakes on the front wheel and a single rotor on the rear wheel. The safety net comprises of dual-channel ABS.
The new CFMoto 650MT will be available in six cities:
- Bangalore
- Hyderabad
- Mumbai
- Chennai
- Kolkata
- Guwahati

The CFMoto 650MT has been priced at INR 4.99 lakh*, which is INR 1.70 lakh lower than the price of its rival, the Kawasaki Versys 650, which retails at INR 6.69 lakh*. Similar to the rest of the CFMoto products, the 650MT is imported via the CKD route and assembled at AMW Motorcycles’ facility in Hyderabad. The price mentioned above is introductory. Despite whatever increase is applied to the price in the future, this model will most likely remain affordable than its rival.
