The 2019 Kawasaki Ninja 300 has started arriving at the dealerships and our friends at Anzen Kawasaki, the Japanese brand’s Mumbai outlet, have shared with us the images of the new motorcycle from the floor space.

The new, 2019 iteration of Kawasaki’s most affordable and highest selling motorcycle has received two new colour options - Lime Green and Ebony/Metallic Moon Dust Grey. Kawasaki India has retained the aggressive price tag and the 2019 Ninja 300 ABS continues to retail at INR 2.98 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
The Ninja 300 has also crossed the 1,000 unit sales mark in record time. The sales of the entry-level Kawasaki motorcycle saw a spike post the launch of the locally assembled model. The massive drop in the ex-showroom price was accompanied by a price cut on the spares. The Ninja 300, which arrived via the CBU route (without ABS), was sold at INR 3.60 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Kawasaki India hopes to further boost the sales of the Ninja 300 ABS with the new colour options. The company said in a press release last month:
We expect these new colour variants will increase the interest among budding riders and will help in building circuit-riding ecosystem in India.
Mechanical specifications remain unaltered for the 2019 model as the Ninja 300 continues to use a 296 cc parallel-twin cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that churns out 39 PS of power at 11,000 rpm and 27 Nm of torque at 10,000 rpm. The engine employs a 6-speed gearbox with assist and slipper clutch. The assist and slipper clutch is targeted to deliver lighter clutch lever action and act as a back-torque limiter in case of aggressive downshifts.
The hardware remains unchanged too, and the 2019 Ninja 300 continues to feature twin-pod headlight and a semi-digital instrument console. Shock absorption department is handled by conventional telescopic forks and adjustable monoshock at the front and back, respectively. The safety net of dual-channel ABS is standard while the anchoring tasks are performed by a 290 mm front and a 220 mm rear petal-type disc brakes.

We expect to see more changes to the Ninja 300 in 2020 when the Japanese brand would introduce the BS-VI compliant iteration of its entry-level motorcycle. Apart from a BS-VI compliant engine, the next-generation bike may also receive slightly tweaked styling, new graphics and an updated features list.
