Yamaha India has introduced a new ‘Express your dark side’ marketing campaign for Yamaha MT-15 customers. Existing, as well as new users, will get an authentic MT jacket or a Yamaha branded helmet for free. The jackets and helmets will be limited to 10,000 units and 3,000 units respectively.
The MT jacket is available only in black colour and available size options include M, L, XL and XXL. The Yamaha helmet is in a mix of blue, white and black and is offered in only one size - XL. Customers who have already bought the Yamaha MT-15 or will be buying one till 30 June 2019, need to visit their nearest Yamaha dealership and confirm their jacket size. These customers will get the helmet or jacket (as per their choice) starting from the third week of July 2019.
Customers buying the Yamaha MT-15 after July 1, 2019, will get their free goodie within 45 days from the date of purchase. Yamaha India will, however, not entertain any exchange once the redemption has been successfully completed.
The Yamaha MT-15 is based on the Yamaha R15 v3.0. Its powerplant is the same 155 cc liquid-cooled, SOHC mill. Coupled to a 6-speed gearbox, the engine is capable of churning out 19.3 PS of maximum power and 14.7 Nm of maximum torque. The fuel injected machine is accentuated by the presence of an assist and slipper clutch. The bike stands apart from the crowd of the street naked 150 cc motorcycles in India with Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) technology.
VVA system provides a good amount of torque even at low engine revs. There are two intake valve cams, one for low to mid-range rpm and another for high rpm. They switch between each other at 7,400 rpm, ensuring good power and torque throughout the rev range. This system was first seen in the Yamaha R15 v3.0.
