The next-generation Honda Activa made its spy-image debut back in March when it was reportedly photographed at the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) facility. Using all the latest details available, IAB's digital artist Shoeb Kalania has created a rendering of the Activa 6G.

The rendered scooter integrates telescopic front forks to the 110 cc product from Honda. The current generation model, for reference, features a spring-loaded hydraulic type shock absorber at the front. In comparison, its direct rival, the TVS Jupiter features telescopic front forks. The new setup is aimed to improve the ride quality of Honda’s highest selling scooter. The rear will have the current model-like spring-loaded hydraulic type shock absorber.

While the test mule of the scooter was heavily camouflaged and covered with plastic wraps, it did reveal some of the chrome garnishings that would add a premium touch to the product. The same styling cues have been integrated into the rendering, and the scooter in the image is seen with chrome garnishing on the apron and on the side panels.

The premium variant (DLX) of the Honda Activa 6G will feature alloy wheels and a disc brake, as depicted in the rendering. The base variant will have steel wheels and 130 mm drum brakes on both ends like in the current generation. The safety net of CBS will be standard.

The fascia will receive a revised design. The instrument console will also undergo a significant overhaul, and the next-generation model will feature a revised layout for the speedometer. Rest of the information will be displayed on a digital screen. The switchgear will witness the addition of what appeared to be an engine kill switch on the test mule.

The next-generation model will feature fuel-injection tech and thus the choke switch will be removed from the scooter. Instead, the Activa 6G will come with a glove box with an optional USB charger. A similar design is seen on the Honda Grazia 125.

The engine specifications, as mentioned above, will include a fuel injection system to comply with the BS-VI norms. The performance numbers are not likely to be much different from the current-generation model although the fuel injection tech will deliver relatively better economy and improved throttle response. The current-generation Honda Activa, for reference, uses a 109.19 cc fan-cooled engine that churns out 8 bhp at 7,500 rpm and 9 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm. Honda may introduce an engine stop-start system similar to the one offered by Hero MotoCorp's i3S (Idle-Stop-Start System).

The prices will most likely go up, and the next-generation Honda Activa will carry a premium over the current model’s INR 54,206 (STD) and INR 56,071 (DLX) ex-showroom Delhi price tags. The launch of the redesigned model will take place by March 2020.
