Royal Enfield launched the Continental GT 650 and the Interceptor 650 in India in November 2018. The company released a range of accessories for the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650, but not the most crucial one that could have hugely benefited it - a classic semi-fairing. While those looking out for such optional fitments will have to take the aftermarket route, IAB’s visual artist Shoeb R Kalania has come up with a digital rendering of the Continental GT 650 Classic Café Racer.
The Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 Classic Café Racer features a single-seat option with a cowl and a semi-fairing. The rest of the design is no different from the regular model on sale. The rendering of the GT 650 Classic is so immaculate that it appears to be a factory fitment, and we would’ve really appreciated if it actually was.
The Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 Classic Café Racer is finished in a shade of jet black with gold pinstripes on the fairing, fuel tank and the rear cowl. If Royal Enfield ever plans to launch the Continental GT 650 in the ‘Classic’ guise, it would take the café racer in the league of the Triumph Thruxton R, with respect to the body style.
The Royal Enfield 650 Twins have gained decent traction amongst enthusiasts, and they command a waiting period of up to 3 months. In the first two weeks of its launch, the company managed to dispatch 325 units of the 650 Twins (in November).

Royal Enfield expects the 650 Twins to become a similar success story for the company in the next 5-10 years as the Classic range. Powering the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 is a 648 cc parallel-twin, 8-valve, SOHC engine with oil cooling that is mated to a slipper-clutch assisted six-speed transmission. The fuel-injected motor develops 47 bhp power and 52 Nm of peak torque.
