TVS Motor Company aims to boost its export sales by introducing products to new markets. In September, the Indian two-wheeler company launched its flagship product, the Apache RR310, along with the Ntorq 125 scooter in Nepal. In October, TVS announced Beta Motor as its exclusive distributor in Argentina. Last month, the company introduced the Apache RTR160 4V in Bangladesh.
Now, TVS Motor Company has extended its product portfolio in the Malaysian market with the launch of the Apache RTR200 4V Race Edition. The motorcycle has been launched in the country at RM 10,950 (INR 1.87 lakh). The Made-in-India motorcycle is assembled in Indonesia, and imported into Malaysia.
The TVS Apache RTR200 4V Race Edition, which was launched in the Indian market in March 2018, features an Anti-Reverse Torque (A-RT) Slipper Clutch. The Malaysia spec model uses the fuel-injected version of the engine. The 197.75cc single-cylinder, oil-cooled, four-valves per cylinder motor delivers 21 PS of maximum power at 8,500 rpm and 18.1 Nm of peak torque at 7,000 rpm. Power is sent to the rear wheel through a five-speed gearbox.
A 270 mm Petal-type disc at the front and a 240 mm Petal-type disc at the rear perform the anchoring tasks. The motorcycle is available with a Dual Channel ABS with Rear Wheel Lift-off Protection (RLP) in the Indian market. The Malaysia spec version, however, does not get ABS.
Conventional telescopic forks at the front and a preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear end perform suspension duties. The motorcycle will be available in matte red, white and black colour options in the Malaysian market.
