The Tata Harrier will launch in January 2019 to become TML's new flagship model. Today we're presenting a JTP version which is purely a figment of our imagination.

Tata Harrier Jtp Rendering
The purported Tata Harrier JTP should boast a more aggressive styling with updated bumpers, dual-tone paint schemes, and larger wheels. Note that Tata Motors has not confirmed new JTP variants.

It was previously confirmed that Jayem Tata Performance (JTP), the company's joint venture with Coimbatore-based Jayem Automotives, intends to launch a range of aesthetics- and performance-enhancing kits for a range of Tata models. Hence, going by the styling changes carried by the Tiago JTP and the Tigor JTP, the visual updates for the Harrier are expected to comprise bolder bumpers, larger wheels, and dual-tone paint schemes.

Initially, the Tata Harrier will be available with a 2.0-litre Kryotec four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine that will come mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. A Hyundai-sourced 6-speed automatic transmission will be introduced at a later date. JTP engineers will ensure higher engine ratings if the go-faster variant sees the light of day.

The Tata Harrier is the production version of the H5X concept that debuted at the Auto Expo 2018. It becomes the first production model to showcase the company's IMPACT 2.0 design philosophy. Underpinning the new SUV is the company's 'Omega Arc' platform derived from Jaguar Land Rover's D8 platform.

Production of the Tata Harrier commenced at the company's Pune-based facility on 30 October. The new model is expected in go on sale in a price range of INR 16-21 lakh (OTR). The production line for the new flagship SUV, in the location as the erstwhile Indica line, was set up in a record time of 6 months and boasts 90% automation levels with more than 100 KUKA and ABB robots. The manufacturer claims to have adopted the best production practices for the new model from Jaguar Land Rover (JLR).
