Taurus Motors, a Hyderabad based Royal Enfield dealership has delivered what seems like the first Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 in India. YouTuber ‘Biker Prakash Choudhary’ has released a video of his friend taking delivery of the GT 650, claiming it to be the first model to be delivered in the country.

The owner of the motorcycle, Varun, has opted for the Ice Queen paint scheme. The owner reveals that the booked the bike on 16 November, and the bike was delivered within 15 days. The delivery process concluded with a customary gift from the dealership and a cake cutting ceremony.

Coming back to the motorcycle, the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 is priced in India from INR 2.65 lakh for the base model. The Custom version is priced at INR 2.72 lakh, while the Chrome variant costs INR 2.85 lakh (all the prices are ex-showroom Delhi).

Royal Enfield has given plenty of attention to detail to maintain the neo-classic design of the Continental GT 650. The motorcycle is modern when it comes to engine, mechanicals or the overall design. However, parts like the glass-enclosure headlight, classic-design indicators and the unavailability of electronic wizardry preserve the authentic retro soul of the bygone era.

The company has opted for simple mechanicals to make the 650 Twins accessible to the three million existing Royal Enfield customers. For instance, the bike features conventional telescopic forks and gas-charged twin shock absorbers at the front and back, respectively.

The Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 is modern where it matters the most - the heart. It is powered by an all-new 648cc, parallel twin engine with air/oil cooling and an 8-valve, SOHC (single overhead camshaft) construction. The engine displaces a modest power output of 47 bhp and 52 Nm, mated to a slipper-clutch assisted six-speed gearbox.
