Someone decided to give his Hero MotoCorp (formerly Hero Honda) Splendor+ a 'change of heart,' if you may. The whereabouts of this modification are scarce. The photographs of the electric Splendor+ were shared on Facebook by a page called ‘Indian Stuff’. A battery and an electric motor, which transfer the power to the rear wheel via a chain-drive, have replaced the conventional engine. No mechanical specifications or the range offered by the battery were available.

With no gears, the shifter and the clutch lever were removed from the motorcycle. Apart from the engine upgrade, the Splendor+ also gets LED blinkers on both ends. To express the eco-friendly character of the bike, the creator has added a green starter button to the switchgear.

Literally everything else remains stock, and thus the Splendor+ carries the factory installed headlight with a fibre mask. Behind the fibre-panel is a twin-pod instrument console. The mod-job looks basic, and therefore it is unlikely that the cockpit displays the battery charge level. The stock fuel tank has been retained, and it is a novelty item instead of a functional part. A saddle, which receives a dual-tone cover and extra-padding to make trips more comfortable, follows the fuel tank.

City commute focused riding stance of the original motorcycle has been retained by the tall-set handlebar and forward set footrests. Conventional telescopic forks at the front and dual-sided springs at the rear perform suspension duties. The rear suspension seems to have received some modification. The motorcycle rides on alloy wheels that are wrapped in the factory specified tyres. Stopping power comes from two drum brakes.

Meanwhile, Hero MotoCorp is concentrating on improving its presence in the premium motorcycle and scooter segment. The two-wheeler brand will next launch the XPulse 200 and XPulse 200T in the Indian market. The two bikes, which are expected to reach the Indian shores in March 2019, were spotted in the country.

The world's largest two-wheeler company also plans to take on its former partner, Honda in the scooter segment. Hero MotoCorp plans to expand its scooter portfolio to six models in 8-12 months. The company's latest offering, the Destini 125 that was launched in India in October, is the first of three new scooters and the national retail sales of the family-oriented model have commenced.
