The 2018 Maruti Ertiga's launch will take place on 18 November 2018, says a new report from GaadiWaadi. The latest news is in sync with an earlier update, as per which the new model is scheduled to be introduced in the second half of November 2018. The second-generation of the company's popular MPV will be sold through the NEXA dealerships.

The 2018 Maruti Ertiga will share its engine and transmission options with the facelifted Maruti Ciaz.

Underpinning the 2018 Maruti Ertiga is the HEARTECT platform, which debuted in India in the Maruti Baleno. Compared to the outgoing model, the all-new model is 99 mm longer, 40 mm wider and 5 mm taller. The wheelbase, at 2,740 mm, however, is the same.  The features list of the top-spec trim should include keyless entry, engine start/stop button, SmartPlay touchscreen infotainment system, projector headlamps, LED tail lamps, multi-function steering wheel, automatic climate control and rear AC vents.

Powering the petrol version of the 2018 Maruti Ertiga will be the K15B 1.5-litre petrol engine that was introduced in our market in the 2018 Maruti Ciaz. It produces a maximum power of 77 kW (103.26 hp) and a peak torque of 138 Nm. It will send power to the wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed automatic transmission. While the Indonesian-spec 2018 Maruti Ertiga has a claimed fuel economy of 18.06 km/l with a manual transmission and 16.73 km/l with the automatic unit, the India-spec version is likely to offer better figures owing to the usage of the SHVS system.

The diesel variant will be powered by the same D13A 1.3-litre turbocharged oil-burner that is found under the hood of the current version. This motor will come mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. It will produce a maximum power of 88 hp and a peak torque of 200 Nm. The Fiat-sourced motor will be eventually replaced by an ingeniously developed BSVI-compliant 1.5-litre diesel engine. This motor will come mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.
