Both parallel-twin motorcycles have a maximum power of 47 bhp and a peak torque of 52 Nm.

In late August, Rudratej Singh, President, Royal Enfield, told IAB that the Interceptor INT 650 and the Continental GT 650 would most likely launch in India by the end of this year or in January 2019.

The Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 is a cafe racer while the Interceptor INT 650 is a retro street bike. The GT 650 will be the spiritual successor to the now-defunct Continental GT 535. It will rival with the likes of Benelli Leoncino Sport and the Harley Davidson Street Rod. The bike has a kerb weight of 198 kg.

The Royal Enfield Interceptor INT 650 will rival the Kawasaki Vulcan S and the Harley Davidson Street 750. It has a kerb weight of 202 kg.

Powering the Royal Enfield 650 twins is an all-new 648 cc, oil-cooled, 8-valve, SOHC parallel-twin cylinder engine that produces a maximum power of 47 bhp at 7,100 rpm and a peak torque of 52 Nm at 5,200 rpm. The motor comes mated to a six-speed gearbox. A slipper clutch is standard.

Both the motorcycles are built around a steel tubular double cradle chassis. Suspension duties are taken care of by 41 mm telescopic front forks and twin gas-charged rear shock absorbers. The Royal Enfield Interceptor INT 650 and Continental GT 650 feature a 320 mm disc brake at front and a 240 mm disc brake at the rear. The duo gets a Bosch 9.1M dual-channel ABS.
