In an interview with Business Standard, Kevin Flynn, managing director of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) India, has revealed that the company plans to launch a Black Pack version of the Jeep Compass this festive season. It will also introduce 'Limited Plus', a new range-topping trim, in the coming months.
The latest development is in line with an earlier report, which cited Steve Zanlunghi, Head of Jeep (APAC region), as saying that the company plans on keeping the Compass "fresh and alive" with the introduction of "different variants".
Both the upcoming variants will be mechanically similar to the current models. Furthermore, the Black Pack will be a limited-run model that will aim to bring more customers to Jeep India dealerships during this year's fast-approaching festive period.
In accordance with its name, the Jeep Compass Black Pack will have a black roof, black ORVMs, black alloy wheels and an all-black leather interior. It isn't known at the moment if Black Pack would be a standalone variant or a package for the existing trims. It's expected to command a premium of roughly Rs 50,000 over the regular version for the distinctive styling it would offer.
The Limited Plus will become the new flagship trim for the Compass It will be pricier than the Limited variant and will offer several more features. It's expected to offer an electric sunroof, power adjustments for the driver's seat, and a larger 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with satellite navigation. The Jeep Compass Limited Plus has been scheduled to launch next month.
