New safety norms, which come into effect from 1 April 2019, mandate every bikemaker to offer ABS brakes as standard on two-wheelers above 125 cc. While the introduction of new safety norms is still some time away, here’s a list of top 6 bikes with ABS in India under INR 1 lakh.
Suzuki Gixxer
The Suzuki Gixxer is the most affordable motorcycle with a single-channel ABS unit in India, priced at INR 87,664 (ex-showroom Delhi). The Gixxer SP edition also gets ABS as an option, which is priced similar to the standard model. The motorcycle will soon get an FI version in India.

Hero Xtreme 200R
The Hero Xtreme 200R is the only 200 cc-segment motorcycle in this list and gets standard single-channel ABS. Hero MotoCorp launched the Xtreme 200R last month at a price of INR 89,900 (ex-showroom Delhi). The Xtreme 200R is also the most affordable 200 cc bike in the domestic market.
The Hero Xtreme 200R employs a 199.6 cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, 2-valve engine that is capable of producing 18.15 bhp of a maximum power of 14.60 bhp at 8,000 rpm along with a peak torque of 17.1 Nm at 6,500 rpm, paired to a 5-speed gearbox. Honda CB Hornet 160R
The Honda CB Hornet 160R is a sporty commuter offering from HMSI. The motorcycle comes with a single-channel ABS unit, which is priced at INR 91,143 (ex-showroom Delhi). The CB Hornet 160R comes loaded with features like LED headlamps and taillight, digital instrument cluster and petal disc brakes.
The Honda CB Hornet 160R uses a 162.7 cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine with HET (Honda Eco Technology) that is capable of generating 14.9 bhp of power at 8,500 rpm and 14.5 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm. A 5-speed transmission sends control to the wheels.
TVS Apache RTR 180
The TVS Apache RTR 180 is the only bike in its segment to come with dual-channel ABS as an option and costs INR 94,542 (ex-showroom Delhi). While the design of the bike is relatively old and showing its age, it is still the most value for money offering in the segment.
The TVS Apache RTR 180 uses a 177.4 cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that puts out 16.40 bhp of maximum power at 8,500 rpm along with 15.5 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm. The carburetted motor pairs with a 5-speed gearbox.

The Suzuki Gixxer SF is the only faired motorcycle in this list to feature ABS.
