Sagar Parikh, I'm the international news editor at IndianAutosBlog.com. I love everything that has a steering wheel!
The new Mahindra Scorpio Pik-Up has started rolling off the assembly line in Tunisia, images posted by webmanagercenter have revealed. Mahindra’s strategic partner in the North African region, the ETS Zourai Group, assembles the pickup truck in the country.
The new Mahindra Scorpio Pik-Up features a bolder front-end that looks powerful. The new Mahindra Scorpio Pik-Up has basically inherited the 2015 Mahindra Scorpio’s fascia. This is to say that the workhorse gets new toothed grille with chrome inserts, double-barrel headlamps with LED eyebrows, new fog lamps, reshaped lower air intake and the more aggressive bumper.
The new Mahindra Scorpio commercial vehicle gets an entirely revamped interior, also constructed with parts picked out from the inventory of the new Mahindra Scorpio. The dashboard, steering wheel, centre console, air vents and instrument panel are fresh. The equipment list includes a 6-inch touchscreen infotainment system with satellite navigation. Tunisia will get the new Mahindra Scorpio Pik-Up in Single Cab and Double Cab versions. In other markets, Mahindra offers cab-chassis versions as well.
Detailed specifications of the Tunisian-spec Mahindra Scorpio Pik-Up aren’t out yet. In other international markets, the pickup truck (with tub) measures 5,175 mm in length, 1,820 mm in width and 1,860 mm (single cab)/1,915 mm (double cab) mm in height. It uses the 2.2-litre mHawk CRDe four-cylinder diesel engine that produces 103 kW (140.04 PS) and 320 Nm of torque. A 6-speed manual transmission driving the rear wheels is standard, while a part-time 4WD system with low-range is available optionally.
The new Mahindra Scorpio Pik-Up should start reaching Tunisian dealerships in the coming days. The facelifted model is yet to go on sale in India where lifestyle pickup buyers are far and few between. The pickup was first showcased at Automobile Barcelona in May 2017.
