Ahead of the 3 September launch, the micro-site for the Mahindra Marazzo has gone live. Several Mahindra dealerships have started accepting bookings for a sum of INR 10,000.
The Mahindra Marazzo will go on sale with a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, turbo-diesel engine that will produce 130 bhp of maximum power and 300 Nm of peak torque. The motor will be paired with a six-speed manual transmission. The all-new 1.5-litre will also power the Ssangyong Tivoli-based S201 sub-4-metre compact SUV.
The new MPV will reportedly launch in four trim levels - M2, M4, M6, and M8. To comply with the new safety norms, dual front airbags, speed sensitive door lock/unlock, ABS, EBD, brake assist, and Isofix child seat mounts will be a part of the standard features list of the 2018 Mahindra Marazzo.
The top-end variant will offer premium features like leatherette upholstery, LED DRLs, 17-inch machined alloy wheels, cooled glovebox, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Cruise control, Automatic climate control, and Electric folding ORVMs. The Marazzo will feature a segment-first surround cooling air conditioning system.
With regards to the price positioning, the Mahindra Marazzo will sandwich the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and the Toyota Innova Crysta. It will offer 7- and 8-seat layouts.
The Marazzo is the first of the three new models in the current fiscal from which Mahindra expects a combined sales volume of 8,500 units per month. The others are the Ssangyong G4 Rexton-based mid-size SUV that will launch around Diwali and the Ssangyong Tivoli-based S201 sub-4-metre compact SUV that will go on sale around February 2019.
