Yesterday Hero MotoCorp revealed the prices of the Xtreme 200R on its website, which costs INR 88,000 (ex-showroom, Siliguri). The company is yet to launch the bike in the country officially. Ahead of that, let’s take a look at a detailed spec comparison between the Hero Xtreme 200R, Bajaj Pulsar NS200, and the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V.
The Hero Xtreme 200R has taken a long time coming, and 2.5 years after its debut at the Auto Expo 2016, the bike joins the Bajaj Pulsar NS200 and the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V in the entry-level premium bike segment. The Xtreme 200R isn’t technically advanced, develops less power and is low on features. However, it trumps its competitors in the pricing department.
The Bajaj Pulsar NS200 costs between INR 99,411 to INR 1.11 lakh, while the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V costs in the range of INR 96,230 to INR 1.10 lakh (all prices are ex-showroom Delhi). On the other hand, the Xtreme 200R is available in one variant and costs INR 88,000 (ex-showroom Siliguri). That’s a good INR 8000 and INR 11,000 less as compared to the Pulsar and Apache.
The Hero Xtreme 200R features a standard single-channel ABS and a 7-step adjustable rear mono-shock. The Bajaj Pulsar NS200 gets optional single-channel ABS and a Nitrox gas-charged rear mono-shock, while the TVS Apache RTR 200 features race-tuned KYB rear mono-shock and optional dual-channel ABS. While the Apache RTR 200 gets optional electronic fuel injection, the Xtreme 200 and Pulsar NS 200 misses out on this feature. The Apache also gets optional Pirelli rubber, while the other two have to make do with MRF tires.
