Images of the 2019 Suzuki Jimny and information related to it continue to pour in via social media channels ahead of its official unveiling next month. Images of two examples of the new Suzuki Jimny Sierra parked alongside each other have been shared on Imgur.
One of the images gives us the first look at the rear end of the production-ready 2019 Suzuki Jimny. A door handle is placed on the left side and the tailgate is hinged at the right edge. There is a black bumper housing the tail lights, which appear to be conventional bulb type units. While the two units pictured here do carry a spare wheel, space for mounting one on the tailgate is clearly visible. There is a wiper and washer present for the rear windshield along with a second stop lamp.
The Jimny Sierra, when compared with the regular Jimny, gets additional cladding around the wheel arches, wider bumpers, and fatter rubber wrapped around slightly different looking alloy wheels. The examples seen here are finished in Brisk Blue Metallic and Kinetic Yellow. A leaked image revealed the full-colour palette of the 2019 Suzuki Jimny recently.
Suzuki will be offering the fourth generation Jimny in a 3-door hardtop configuration. It will have seating for four occupants and the top-end grade will offer features like front airbags and curtain airbags, touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, keyless entry and push-button start, cruise control, electrically retractable ORVMs, LED projector headlamps and more.
The JDM-spec Suzuki Jimny will be powered by a 660 cc RA06 petrol engine. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic. There will be 4x4 on offer as well.
Suzuki Motor Company has commenced production of the Jimny in Japan. It has already been spotted in the flesh on multiple occasions revealing much of its exterior. Leaked brochure and patent images have revealed its interior as well. As per a Suzuki dealership, the Jimny and Jimny Sierra will make their official debut on July 5, 2018.
